Our round chimney liner kits are made of 316 stainless steel. 316 stainless steel is better than 304 stainless steel because 316 has less alloys that rust. The burning of wood creates creosote, creosote is very acidic and the acids will make a 304 liner rust.
Single ply liners are not smooth on the inside of the liner. Single ply liners produce 20% less draft than double ply smooth liners.
In other words, Double ply liners are smooth on the inside of the liner. Double Ply Liners produce 20% more draft than single ply liners.
Longer chimneys produce more draft than short chimneys. For example a 12 foot chimney will produce less draft than a 30 foot chimney. So if you have a 30 foot chimney, you may prefer a single ply liner because having less draft because it is a single ply liner will mean your wood will burn longer.
If you have a shorter chimney you may want double ply because shorter chimneys produce less draft and double ply liners have 20% more draft. This will help with having draft issues from not having enough draft.
